Character Background: Liira Sharn
Submitted by A Hero on Sat, 08/28/2010 - 11:16Liira is the only daughter of Alesco and Noli Tesh. She lived with her family on the Lendore Isles, where her father made a modest living as a fisherman. It was a simple life, but it was a happy one. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. Liira’s simple life soon fell victim to the cruelty of the of the outside world.

Heroes of Hesiod on September 11!
Submitted by tyrwench on Wed, 08/25/2010 - 18:50Calling all Lords of Tyr! I here by announce that Tyrwench's DMing cherry will be popped, so to speak, on Saturday September 11th at 6:30pm!
As practical research in my ever consuming passion for Children and teaching them the ways and skills of RPGing, specifically for us D&Ding . . . I will be running the WOTC Kids campaign "Heros of Hesiod" at our game night!
Is it cheating? Totally. I feel more comfortable trying out my first attempt at DMing with a module geared towards the DMing skills of a six year old.
Will you have fun? ABSOLUTELY!
We will have special guests that evening . . . Sarah & Jeff Moore and their fabulous kiddos (gamerchickshow.com creators) will be trying their first taste of D&D that evening with us! So, if you're coming to play be there on time (6pm) because they are coming a long way to play with us. You Lords can do the punctual thing if its important, I know you can (most of you made it to Iron Man 2 on time).
Do you need to create a character? No! Take a break . . . we will be using the pregnerated characters that come with the game.

Neverwinter Nights for PC in 2011!
Submitted by Chadarius on Tue, 08/24/2010 - 19:23From gamepro.com:
Rumors and speculation around a new Neverwinter Nights game were mostly confirmed this morning as developer Cryptic Studios and publisher Atari announced Neverwinter for PC.
It is also being released as a part of R.A. Salvatore's new trilogy which starts with Guantlgrym on Oct 5th, 2010. The game will be based on 4E rules. Gamespot has an in-depth interview with Cryptic's COO Jack Emmert.
It certainly sounds like the big multi-platform "event" that Wizards is planning is starting to come together. I'm very intrigued to see what else will be involved.

Listener Email: What is that 4E Framework You are Using?
Submitted by Chadarius on Sun, 08/22/2010 - 12:08From Listener Elliot:
Hey Chadarius,
First, love the podcast. I've been listening since episode 1 and enjoy your tone and topics every time. Now, in episode 37 you discuss an add-on or some kind of program where you take a 2 page pdf of your character sheet/monster stats and drag it directly into MapTools, creating macros for each PC/monster power. We also use the MapTool and I would love to add this to our repetoire. Can you send me the link where you found this great tool?
Anyway, I'm at work so I'll cut this short, but thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you. I may pick your brain further for more MapTool info since you guys seem to have it pretty well nailed down and we are still learning of much of its functionality.
Elliot

GenCon Rocks Grammie Even Thought So
Submitted by tyrwench on Tue, 08/10/2010 - 14:26
So here is a mini review of GenCon 2010.
2 notes: This was my first Con and I have played D&D for almost 2 years (my anniversary is coming up in October!)
Basically, it was AWESOME! Why? We were exhausted everyday. So we know we were getting as much out of it as we could and by the last day my mom, Grammie -- who we brought along as our childcare and extra set of hands for babies/Shane -- asked, "Are we going to do this every year?" And she asked this with a bright smile on her face, even though her knees were killing her and she was ready for a nap at 11am.

Introductions Please...First D&D Games: Hows, Whats, etc.

Dr. Rotwang!'s Daughter's First D&D Game
This is a great article of how one dad introduced D&D to his daughter of only 5.5 years. I read Lily/Barbie's encounter to Shane as we were driving home from our vacation. He loved it and thanked me for reading him such a great story. So let's break this down and I'll have the Lord's and guests roll me and assist or two for some of the complicated things I have no idea about.
Intention: This D&D dada waited for his daughter to ask to play! I gotta say, I don't know if can do it. Based on this very simple yet integrity filled example of D&D gameplay, I am totally itching to test my DMing skills on my 3.5 year old.
