One Bad Egg "Goes Dark"

One Bad Egg in case you have no idea what I am talking about, is a 4E 3rd party publisher. Some considered it the best. It had/has some cool products like Hard Boiled Armies a product that allowed you to battle large armies against each other in 4E; their first product, The Apelord, an apelike race and The Codex Venenorum that contained rules on creating poisons and eighty sample poisons. They also had two ENnie Nominations in 2009 for Death Mother and Hard Boiled Armies.  They have stopped production.

I would like to hear your opinions about this. Many, especially RPGA players consider third party products second-class and not worth even considering. However, your a group of home gamers.  So I would like to hear your take. Personally, even though there are many third party products out there that are not that great, they do add some interesting alternatives to the Wizards output that can make a game unique and can save the DM some time. For example, there are many races, classes, adventures and alternate rules (like poison craft) out on the market. However, those are the same things many DMs seem to like spending time on. I like third party vendors to be out there and think it adds richness to the game. I will miss a good one like this. -benensky P.S. I hope you do not consider me rude for asking you to consider topics for your podcast.  If you do I will stop.

I agree with Chadarius.

Keep the podcast suggestions coming benensky!   We really appreciate how enthusiastic you are about our podcast and always need good ideas.

I am sad to hear that One Bad Egg went under.  I won’t go into much detail now, in case we do talk about it on the podcast, but I believe an ecosystem of third-party publishers is only good for D&D.

Sincerely,
