Once again children. Microsoft + Wizards = crap

<rant>That is great stuff to get when I'm trying to prepare for our podcast. Man I love D&D, but sometimes I am just baffled by Wizards.
This is two outages in very short amount of time. If Wizards was going for 99.999% uptime (which small children can do with a few Linux servers these days) then they have blown it already. 99.999% uptime means 5 minutes of downtime per year. Its not much wiggle room, but with the right redundant infrastructure and the correct testing and change methodology it is quite easy to achieve. Especially for a web site.
So now I'm wondering. Are the same technical minds behind D&D Insider also that same ones that are attempting to deliver their web presence? If so that could quite possibly explain a number of things. Most of them not being good.
So Wizards... have you thought of using a lovely open source system like Drupal? There are other HUGE web sites out there using it. Have you heard of MTV? Hmmmm? Yep Drupal baby. You guys should totally check it out. Content is your strength. Let Drupal run your site and you can hire some truly amazing Drupal developers to theme it and customize some things for you.
If you already have consultants and contractors running your website... well I think they need to find a more suitable career. Microsoft technology? Seriously? That's not working out so well for you.</rant>
