Gamers Rise Up! McCain's campaign hates D&D players!

I don't even know where to go with this. One of McCain's campaign managers totally bagged on D&D players this week.
"It may be typical of the pro-Obama Dungeons & Dragons crowd to disparage a fellow countryman's memory of war from the comfort of mom's basement," said McCain aide Michael Goldfarb, in a posting to the campaign website. "But most Americans have the humility and gratitude to respect and learn from the memories of men who suffered on behalf of others."
First of all, I take issue with that comment. I disparage John McCain's embelished memory of war from my own basement where I play D&D. Don't get me wrong. I honor his service to our country. I have lots of relatives that have served. I would never dishonor them or anyone's service. But his (mis)use of that experience as a qualification for being president is a little strange frankly. Don't think I'm the only one that thinks that. How about another POW that was in for 2.5 years longer than McCain (8 full years as a POW!)?
All that being said. How about we leave the D&D players out of all of this. If the D&D players were running this place, we'd have critted on Osama and fireballed his minions into the sand already. We certainly wouldn't have lost track of him along the border of Pakistan. Our ranger's tracking ability is boundless. And for that matter, instead of wasting billions on this war, the D&D folks would have found a huge hoard of lost treasure in the desert guarded by a dragon that we slayed.
I would also like to point out that many of our troops play Dungeons and Dragons. They don't live in their mom's basements either. They live in Iraq where they were sent and are serving honorably in a dubious war. So, McCain, let's not turn us D&D'rs into a small but vocal minority in this election. Have you see the kinds of flame wars we can create online? Believe me. You do not want us to go there!
