Monk Playtest is Released!

Wizards has released the Monk playtest in the latest Dragon magazine.
I am way to excited to think logically about it yet. I'll need some time for it to sink in. I also have to figure out how to get someone else in our group to DM something in 4E so I can try it out!
This is not some level 1-3 prerelease either. This is a full level 1-30 playtest. From what I can tell Dex is your key damage modifier with some Wisdom modifiers thrown in for good measure.
Flurrying, Stances, Leaping, Kicking, Psionics! Monks rule!

It does seem very 'monkish'
I have checked out this playtest, and it does seem very 'monkish'. The concept of Full Disciplines, powers with both an attack and movement component, help keep the monk mobile on the battlefield, which has been one of their traditional strengths.
In addition, they have some pretty neat utility powers. One that I liked is a level two utility power called "Leaf in the Wind". This is an immediate interrupt that can be activated whenever the monk would be pushed, pulled, or slid. Instead of being affected by the forced movement, they can shift the number of squares it would have moved them!
This power really has the feel of an old Kung Fu movie where a martial artist gets hit by a chain or similiar attack, but uses it to move to a good attack position. I was amazed by how many of the powers had this kind of feel.
I have never been much of a monk player, but their is a lot to love about this class. Although when it comes to monastic themed strikers, I still like the Avenger better. But that may just be a personal preference.
Sincerely,
A Hero
