Code Monkey Information

Information from Codemonkey on the program and datasets...
Well the good news is that RPG Foundry: The Player's Forge and related Data Sets are up for Pre-Order in our store now.
So the not so good news? A few things;
Code
The Functionality Demo Preview is delayed because of the Great Server Crash of '06 by a few weeks. It is back under heavy construction though, so it's coming as fast as we can get it stablized!
Pricing: $40.00 USD - Pre-Order Price: $30.00 USD
Recommended System Requirements
Platform: Windows XP, MacOSX 10.1, *nix
Memory: 512
Hard Drive Space: 100MB (Without Data Set Installations)
Release Time: 1st Quarter 2007, Targetting January.
Data
Here's the unpleasant news; due to licensing restrictions we can _not_ offer any trade in's on e-Tools or PCGen formats to RPGF format.
We can't give a detailed explanation as to why not, confidentiality agreement, but suffice it to say that such 'special/promotional offers' require permission to offer from the license holders, which we do not have.
Pricing:
Modules: $5.00 USD
Source books: $7.50 USD
Campaign settings: $10.00 USD
That is for most books. There is currently 1 exception and more may arise in the future, but not if we can help it.
The data sets will still be maintained for 2 years and they will work with future RPGF Forge's (GM, Campaign, World).
Since we can not offer exchanges of data, even at a reduced price, we have consolidated our bundles down and increased those % off for a bundle purchase as much as we could go.
We know this won't sit well with many of you, if any of you, but our hands our tied on this issue, there is nothing we can do about it other than to say sorry we can't do more at this time.
That doesn't mean we haven't stopped trying, or that we will, because we will keep trying to come up with 'good deals' for everyone that's stuck with us for so long.
The Code Monkey Publishing Team

Its a shame that they told people there would be an exchange...
In fact it was brought up quite frequently on their forums. I understand that their hands may be tied by Wizards, but they really should have kept their mouths shut on the subject if they hadn't worked out all the details with the license holders.
The fact that they stated their would be some form of discount or conversion might have influenced people to buy their data sets for a soon to be obsolete platform, confident that their investment would not go to waste. I know it influenced my decision to buy some data sets for PCGen.
IANAL, but I see this as something that could potentially open them up to a lawsuit.
Sincerely,
A Hero

Data Sets, Agreements & Lawsuits - Oh my!
Well, it doesn't appear as though Code Monkey cares regardless.
After purchasing $500 of data sets among other stuff from them I was told by them that I haven't invested anything in their software at all and to "shut the hell up!". This is what CMP thinks of their customers. They couldn't care a tinkers spit about how many people they've gleamed on this deal, in fact I think it might have been a tactic. They've been pre-selling their new software RPGF and blowing off yet even more dates. I have another topic posted on that... These people are unbelievable.
Another Delay
Well, Code Monkey did it again... Another delay, what a surprise. These guys are simply not worth the wait any longer.
