Listener Email: What is that 4E Framework You are Using?
Submitted by Chadarius on Sun, 08/22/2010 - 12:08From Listener Elliot:
Hey Chadarius,
First, love the podcast. I've been listening since episode 1 and enjoy your tone and topics every time. Now, in episode 37 you discuss an add-on or some kind of program where you take a 2 page pdf of your character sheet/monster stats and drag it directly into MapTools, creating macros for each PC/monster power. We also use the MapTool and I would love to add this to our repetoire. Can you send me the link where you found this great tool?
Anyway, I'm at work so I'll cut this short, but thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you. I may pick your brain further for more MapTool info since you guys seem to have it pretty well nailed down and we are still learning of much of its functionality.
Elliot

Some thoughts on D&D Essentials
Submitted by Chadarius on Sun, 07/18/2010 - 18:54Some thoughts on D&D Essentials -
Since the D&D Essentials line was announced, there has been a lot of speculation that it is meant as a ‘stealth’ edition. In fact, Bill Slavicsek took the time in his most recent Ampersand column to debunk this concept. He specifically notes that the Essentials products will be “fully compatible with the rest of the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.” and that “The rules of the game are the same as those featured in the Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide. The presentation is new, rewritten for clarity and friendliness.”

D&D New Business Team Created - Chris Youngs is Digital Games Manager
Submitted by Chadarius on Fri, 07/02/2010 - 09:15From "Hail to the Chief":
This is my last month working on Dragon and Dungeon magazines. As many of you have heard, we’ve reorganized here in RPG R&D. We’re moving into a brave age of new media and new ways to play, and we’ve got a fresh, upstart team of rogues and renegades dedicated to bringing D&D fully into the 21st century. We’re calling it the D&D New Business team, and I’m excited to say that I get to be part of it. My new title is Digital Games Manager, and part of my new gig involves working with the D&D Studio to help with the content for all the tools and other digital gizmos for D&D Insider. The other part involves … well, all sorts of projects, none of which I’m really able to talk about. NDAs, and all that. What I can say is that it’s exciting, and I can’t wait to share more—to our D&D Insiders, of course.
