Griegor

As the jailor pressed the key into the lock, the prisoner asks “Some water?”

Unlocking the door to admit a cleric for death rights, the jailor responds, “Water?  Why waste water on you?  You best be minding the short drop and the sudden stop that’ll be your worries in soon.” The priest entered the dungeon cell.

“Any confessions you’ve to make to your god son?” the cleric asks the young man sitting on the floor.

“Aye, fath’r.  I do.”  Dorn replied.

“Go on then son, there is not much time.  The sun rises in a few minutes and the hangman’s noose is seeking your company.”

“Tisn’t right to take a man’s life.  A freeman’s a free man.  And life takin’ ain’t  dignified.”

“But your ship was seized with a dozen townfolk chained in the hold for the slavers in the south.  The king’s penalty for thieving and slavers is death.” The older man replied.  “Now your fate is sealed, do you want to leave this world

Togar's Character Background

Long ago, in ages past, Clan Burenheim was forced from its ancestral home by marauding goblins and orcs.  They wandered the frozen wastes, eking out what meager existence could be had there. For more than a human lifespan, they lived under the leadership of King Wold, known as “The Wandering King”.

Togar was born into this harsh and unforgiving environment.  It was a hard life, but it taught Togar how to fight and how to survive. At a young age Togar became renown among Clan Burenheim’s warriors.  He was gifted with great strength.  He became known as Togar the Hammer for his ability to deliver punishing blows to his enemies.

Character Creation Rules for Bob's new Campaign

We recently started a long awaited campaign run by bobhir. It was supposed to fill in for our 3.5 campaign during ToddSmith's absence but life happened and it got started a little late. These things happen :).

We expected some unique ideas and unusual visions from Bob, as he is described by both of those phrases well. It started even before we began to play the game.

Here is the email he sent out for instructions for creating our characters.

Character Naming in D&D. Can and Should Shelly name a Minatour Kevin?

Mike Mearls, Jeremy Crawford, and Shelly were all on the most recent D&D podcast. Shelly had some questions regarding Dungeon Mastering after her first go around as a DM. Mike was very supportive of her interesting but effective changes to her E! inspired Bruce Jenner and the Kardashians hoard of monsters. But everything broke down when the topic of her now deceased Minotour named Kevin came up.

The first thing that popped into my head was that there is nothing wrong with the name Kevin. In fact, we have an Eladrin named that in our 4E game. However, one would just have to spell it differently to make it "appropriate". I challenege Mike to disagree with the name Qevvyn! There sir! The glove has slapped your... er cheeky cheek sir. The Lords of Tyr have come to Shelly's defense!
